Grab a Grad is made up of a team of four recent graduates, meaning we have first-hand experience with the difficulty in finding work relevant to our qualifications in today’s job market. We can also see the other side of the story being a small business endeavouring to grow. Grab a Grad faces the all too common issue of finding affordable talent for one off or short term jobs within the company. In order to kill two birds with one stone, we thought why not build a service which could solve both problems – yes a small business might not be in a position to provide a graduate with a full time role, but they may have contracts outside of their area of expertise needing to be filled. This would allow graduates to attain valuable experience, acting as a stepping stone between tertiary study and full time employment.
