1. Does the Grab a Grad referral service cost?

 

No, you will not be required to pay Grab a Grad cash for the graduate profiles you are supplied with. However, we would really appreciate a referal or a testimonial if you enjoy our service!

 

2. I am a medium to large business, can I contact you?

 

Absolutely, although the focus of Grab a Grad is connecting small businesses with graduates we will never say no to the chance to get a graduate into the workforce, or supply a business with fresh talent.

 

3. I have long term or permanent positions available, can I use you?

 

Again, absolutely. Although graduates usually be utilising Grab a Grad as a stepping stone between tertiary education and full time employment, the quicker they can get from A to B the better!

 

4. Do you screen the graduates?

 

We require all Grab a Grad graduates to fill out a profile including qualifications gained, prior work experience, career goals and key skills. We then interview each graduates before putting forward the best matches for the job. All other screening processes including reference checks, police checks etc can be carried out by the employer if necessary.

 

5. What graduates are eligible to join Grab a Grad?

 

Any person who has completed at least a diploma or above qualification within the last three years from a New Zealand tertiary institution can join Grab a Grad. Graduates who have completed a course at any other tertiary institution will be assessed on a case by case basis.

 

6. Can I request graduates who have a certain degree or experience base?

 

Yes, we will call you for a quick chat after your initial email. During this call you can let us know any particular requirements you will need graduates to have for the job at hand.

 

7. How many graduate profiles will I be sent?

 

We aim to send through the top five matches for each role advertised within our database. However you are more than welcome to request more or less matches than this for your role.

 

8. Do you provide contracts or negotiate pay with the graduates?

 

No, Grab a Grad acts as a talent referral service only. We find graduates and supply their information to employers in a unique Grab a Grad profile format to enable businesses to connect with affordable talent. This is where our role stops and the employers begins. You will need to go through your usual employment procedures if you decide to hire graduates through Grab a Grad. This includes but is not limited to setting pay rates, creating contracts and completing any further employment suitability checks.

 

9. Are the graduates independent contractors or employees?

 

This is dependent on your needs. You can specify what the role requires and ensure that both you and the graduate acts accordingly.
